Woman charged with attempted murder of two boys in Brisbane

A woman has been charged with the attempted murder of two boys on Brisbane’s north side.

The 47-year-old Mitchelton woman is facing two charges of the domestic violence offence of attempted murder against a child.

She is accused of trying to kill both a 12-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy by exposing the pair to a noxious substance on September 24.

Detectives from the Ferny Grove Child Protection Unit were called to a Mitchelton home, where a 70-year-old man who was visiting detected the presence of gas.

The two boys were unharmed and didn’t require any medical treatment but the woman was taken to the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital. She has since been discharged.

On Thursday, she was arrested and charged with attempted murder.

Her case was brought before court on Thursday afternoon and will return to court next week.
