Brisbane joy riders crash into cops

An early morning joy ride in Brisbane has come to an abrupt end when a stolen car crashed into a police vehicle.

The car was spotted speeding on the wrong side of the road at Corinda, in Brisbane's southwest, around 4.30am on Monday.

However, the unlicensed driver hit trouble when the car experienced mechanical problems.

Turning onto Ipswich Road, the struggling vehicle slowed to a 30km/h crawl before crashing into a police car.

The three people inside fled but were arrested shortly afterwards.

Two men, aged 23 and 24, and a 17-year-old girl have been charged with 11 offences, including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

They will appear in Richlands Magistrates Court on Monday morning.
