Body found hours after north Qld crash

A man who died after his ute crashed into a creek in a remote part of far north Queensland may have lain undetected for up to 15 hours.

Police say the 37-year-old man crashed sometime between 10pm on Tuesday and 2.40pm on Wednesday at Cape Tribulation Road in the Daintree, north of Cairns.

Members of the public pulled him from the ute, and he was pronounced dead after police and emergency services arrived at the scene on Wednesday afternoon.

Police say the man was a local of the Daintree area, and the cause of the crash is unknown.
