Ashmore TAFE given the all clear by police after reports of armed man

Ashmore TAFE has been deemed secure after earlier being placed on lockdown amid reports a knife-wielding man was on campus.

Police were called to the facility, near Parasol Street, about 10.30am amid reports of a man acting suspiciously, a Queensland Police spokesman told 9news.com.au.

“Officers searched the grounds without any outcome,” he said.

The campus is no longer on lockdown, however authorities are expected to remain on scene for the next few hours.
