Qld raids nab alleged drug kingpin

The alleged kingpin of an ice trafficking network linked to the Rebels bikie gang has been arrested in Queensland.

A nine-month police operation ended on Tuesday and Wednesday with officers seizing 2kg of drugs and seven guns including a loaded handgun and silencers during raids on 15 homes in the Hervey Bay and Maryborough areas.

A 35-year-old Susan River man, believed to be running the operation, will face Hervey Bay Magistrates Court on Wednesday charged with trafficking a dangerous drug and possession of illegal weapons.

The operation, codenamed North Airsander, has seen 38 people charged with 122 offences since it began in May last year.

Various quantities of drugs and five firearms were seized in the lead up to the most recent arrests.

Police have also seized property worth $600,000, including homes and cars.
