17 people charged after Qld drug bust

Seventeen people have been slapped with 163 charges after a weekend drug ring bust in far north Queensland.

Officers seized cannabis worth more than $1 million, $50,000 worth of ice, $24,000 in steroids and more than $100,000 in cash during the raids at various properties in the Townsville area.

Ten of the 17 people charged are facing drug trafficking offences.
