He was treated at the scene and was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

The investigation is fresh with little known details; however, police believe the man was driving in a car when he stopped at the traffic light.

Investigators suspect he then got out of the car and spoke to someone, which led to an altercation.

Officers know there was an e-bike on the scene, but the rider did leave shortly after.

One line of enquiry is whether the e-bike rider was involved in the altercation.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers.
