Sydney metro services restored after earlier power supply issue

Sydney metros services have resumed after a power supply issue affected several services.

Due to the technical incident at Chatswood, metro services was not running between Macquarie Park and Barangaroo, effectively stopping commuters from using the line to cross the harbour.

A NSW transport spokesperson said delays were likely throughout the evening.

"Power has been restored at Chatswood at 4.28pm and trains are running again, after an earlier issue that impacted some services," a transport spokesperson said.

"Metro passengers should continue to allow plenty of extra travel time as services return to normal frequency, or use alternative modes including Sydney Trains services and local bus routes.

"Sydney Metro and operator Metro Trains Sydney apologise to passengers for the disruption caused.

"We want to thank passengers for their patience while crews worked quickly to get services running again."
