Police urge Cabramatta shooting murder witness to call again

NSW detectives are appealing for a person who contacted Crime Stoppers recently over the 2016 murder of Robert Tran to get in touch with them again.

Mr Tran, 24, was found shot to death on the night of July 2, 2016 in Jasmine Crescent, Cabramatta.

His car, a white VW Golf GTI, was abandoned that same night in the car park of a licensed premises in Greystanes, and set alight five days later.

Detective Chief Inspector David Laidlaw says a person with credible information emailed Crime Stoppers twice in September and urged them to get back in touch.

"The information was provided anonymously, and we respect that – we would never risk anyone's safety – but we would love them to contact us, as we believe they can help break the case," he said.
