Police release CCTV footage in hunt for gun supplier over Sydney shooting murder

Police are appealing to the public for information on a suspect who may have information on the supply of a firearm used in a deadly shooting in Sydney’s west earlier this year.

In January emergency services were called to a unit complex on Eddy Street in Merrylands just after 9:30pm after reports a man had been shot.

They arrived to find 22-year-old Mohammad Salihy has died at the scene.

Following an investigation from the Cumberland Police Area Command, Strike Force Hopkin was established to examine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

A 19-year-old man was charged.

Police are now hunting the supplier of the firearm allegedly used in the shooting.

In CCTV footage released today, a silver Nissan Tiida sedan can be seen driving into the Eddy Street unit complex.

Strike force detectives wish to speak to the driver of the vehicle and are urging the public to come forward if they have information.
