Police helmet cameras catch shocking footage of Queensland drivers

They are almost run down, they are abused, and lied to. These are everyday situations for police patrolling our roads, but now Queensland officers are fighting back.

9NEWS has obtained exclusive and shocking footage of drivers breaking the law, all captured on video cameras worn by police.

At Wacol a driver goes off the road, attempting to avoid an RBT. A stolen motorbike wheelies past an officer on the Logan motorway.

Hoons crash and aren’t happy about it. Others burn rubber, unaware a policeman is just a few vehicles behind them.

Almost all of Queensland's motorcycle police now have these helmet-mounted cameras. Officers buy them out of their own pockets and they could catch you anywhere at any time.

The video evidence is dramatically decreasing false complaints against officers and quashing the need for court action.
