Police find ‘loaded gun in same room as kids’ during raid

Two children were allegedly found in the same room as a loaded shot gun during a police raid on a home in Sydney’s south-west.

Authorities targeted the Narellan home on Wednesday, also allegedly uncovering a slingshot, ammunition and cannabis.

Couple Adam Hill and Aimee Boyd are accused of keeping the stash of illegal goods in the home, where two young children also live.

The pair have both been charged with a host of offences, including possessing illegal firearms and endangering life.

Despite the Crown opposing bail due to safety concerns, Ms Boyd today walked free from Campbelltown Local Court.

The 28-year-old refused to answer questions from the media, telling 9NEWS “I’ve got nothing to say”.

Mr Hill was also granted bail.

Both of the accused denied the gun was theirs, but that's where the similarities in their stories ended.

One said the weapon was found in a shed, while the other said it was the backyard, left behind from a break enter a few weeks prior.

The magistrate labelled the conflicting statement as “troubling,” while the Crown prosecutor said it was “concerning that when the firearm was found, it was not taken straight to police”.

Ms Boyd and Mr Hill will enter pleas next month.
