Pair of masked thieves torch Perth candy shop in alleged arson attack

Police are hunting a pair of masked offenders who allegedly set fire to a lolly shop in Perth.

Emergency services were called to American-style candy store Candy Station on Illawarra Crescent Ballajura, north Perth, following reports of a blaze at about 3.40am (6.40am AEDT) on Tuesday.

The blaze damaged the shopfront and inside the store, police said.

Arson Squad investigators examined the scene and allege the fire was deliberately lit.

CCTV footage of the alleged early morning arson attack shows two masked men approach the store with what appears to be an axe and petrol canister.

Detectives are now hunting the two people seen in the footage.

Police have offered rewards up to $25,000 for any information which leads to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
