Perth hospital fire clean-up to take days

Areas of a Perth hospital affected by a fire that prompted the evacuation of 77 patients will remain closed until Monday, including all surgery and admissions.

The blaze was detected in the kitchen of St John of God in Mt Lawley around 7pm on Tuesday and evacuated patients were transferred to other hospitals, including two pregnant women who were brought to King Edward Memorial Hospital.

The Ursula Frayne Unit and the Restorative Unit were unaffected, while all medical consulting suites at Killowen House and the medical centre remain open, as well as SKG Radiology, Mercy Physiotherapy, Epic Pharmacy and St John of God Pathology.
