Perth driver loses front bumper in accident with bus

A lost driver has suffered a nasty collision after they carelessly merged into the path of an oncoming bus in Perth.

The driver had been signalling to change lanes when they failed to spot the approaching vehicle.

As the car shifted lanes, it was clipped by the front of the bus and careered into the left-hand lane, losing its front bumper in the process.

The accident was captured on dashboard camera by another motorist, identified only as Matthew, who was travelling behind.

"Happened today on the causeway," he wrote.

"Shout-out to Main Roads incident response for saving the driver from over-eager tow truck drivers. Driver was lost and tried to U-turn."

The video has been viewed 72,500 since being uploaded four hours ago.
