Dashcam footage captures shocking car rollover on busy Melbourne motorway
Video has been released that shows an SUV clipping another car and flipping on EastLink in heavy traffic.
The footage, posted to Dash Cam Owners Australia, captured the white Hyundai IX35 SUV driving along EastLink near the Heatherton Road overpass around 4.20pm yesterday before merging into the far right lane.
The car, driven by a 52-year-old Dingley man, can be seen swerving suddenly to avoid a Mini Cooper, but instead clips the back of it at speed.
The SUV is catapulted into the air and flips numerous times before coming to rest in the centre divider of the road. The man was miraculously unscathed.
The woman in the Mini Cooper and her 13-year-old passenger were also uninjured.
The video has amassed tens of thousands of views since being posted.
Victoria Police confirmed it is investigating the collision, and is appealing for witnesses to come forward.
