Penelope Cruz shocked by question about her ugly feet

Penelope Cruz has been taken by surprise at being told she had ugly feet during an early morning TV interview.

The Spanish Oscar-winning actress was promoting her new film Zoolander 2 on the US Today Show overnight when she was thrown the curly question by co-host Savannah Guthrie.

"I don't even know how I feel about this, I think you said it, that you, despite what you look like... you've said you have ugly feet," Guthrie said.

"No, no, no, no. I haven't said that," Cruz said barely hiding her disgust at the slight.

"I'm okay with my feet."

Guthrie tried to explain herself, telling Cruz that she was a dancer.

The Spanish actress said she had lost toenails as a ballet dancer and eventually became immune to the pain, but denied having said her feet were ugly.

"Okay your feet are pretty," Guthrie said.

"I think they are normal," Cruz said as the interview was brought to an awkward end.
