Payne not concerned with Pyne elevation

Defence Minister Marise Payne isn't concerned with sharing responsibility for defence issues with Christopher Pyne.

Her cabinet colleague has been given the defence industry portfolio by Malcolm Turnbull in his latest reshuffle, which includes oversight of the naval shipbuilding program.

Asked how she would describe the decision, which has been seen as a diminishing of her role, Senator Payne told ABC radio: "I'd say business as usual".
