Anti-gambling crusader and independent MP Andrew Wilkie has called on parliament to ban so-called "social casinos".
Under his proposed legislation, apps or websites that take money from users to play but doesn't let them cash out - instead providing virtual chips - would be banned.
"Australia has a gambling problem," the Tasmanian MP told federal parliament on Wednesday.
