Election 2016: Official recount confirms Labor’s Cathy O’Toole wins seat of Herbert by 37 votes

The Australian Electoral Commission has finished a recount of federal election votes cast in the Queensland seat of Herbert, confirming that Labor’s Cathy O’Toole has won by 37 votes.
Ms O’Toole, a former mental health service worker, received 44,187 votes compared to 44,150 votes for LNP MP Ewen Jones.

Herbert was the last House of Representatives seat to be finalised, and the result leaves Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull's coalition government with 76 seats – a majority of just one.
Mr Jones previously held the seat with a margin of just over six percent.
