Darwin youth has frightening encounter with crocodile on dare

It's hard to know what's dumber — swimming in crocodile-infested waters or bragging about it on Facebook.

One Darwin boy has done both, with video emerging today of his idiotic stunt in Rapid Creek in the city's north.

The youth was filmed several metres from the bank, with three passers-by looking at him from a footbridge.

"Oi, there's something behind you Ben," a girl calls.

The camera then pans over to see a crocodile just metres away from the youth.

The video ends with the cameraman and his friend screaming.

The NT News reported the youngster swam in the creek as a dare so his friends would shout him a "blaze", slang for marijuana.
