A Victorian brewery is injecting bush superfoods and Territory flavours into its newest beer.

Mountain Goat Beer's new drop is infused with Kakadu plums and finger limes, giving it a distinctly Aussie taste.

Touted as a gourmet bush food containing high levels of vitamin C, the Kakadu plum used in the beer is ethically harvested by traditional owners.

"The idea was to produce a beer the locals would love and feel and also get an emotional attachment to it, because we're using local produce," National Sales Manager Nathan Seamons said.

Fingers limes were added for acidity.

"Very low in alcohol, very refreshing. We tried to match the climate," brewer Kenny Doyle said.

Even its name, Kakadu Plumdee, oozes Australiana.

"We've all seen Crocodile Dundee and, yeah, it just made sense," he said.

The new brew will be stocked at four watering holes in the Top End, with plans to release even more Territory-centric flavours down the track.

"We're also looking at trialing some other Northern Territory-specific fruits moving forward, for other beers later in the year," Mr Seamons said.
