Consumers are being warned about Sydney luxury car and motorbike dealer Gasoline Motor Co, following numerous complaints and what the NSW Department of Fair Trading has called "possible trust account anomalies".

Fair Trading said in a statement on Wednesday that 17 complaints have been lodged involving at least $600,000 in "consumer detriment".

Another 47 complaints were made involving the quality of repairs of used motorcycles and scooters, and the quality of new motorcycles and scooters.

The company, which trades from an address in the inner-city suburb of Alexandria, has had its licenses suspended following the detection of the anomalies, which involve the sale of vehicles on consignment.

Fair Trading is urging aggrieved consumers to contact the department and to remove any vehicle on consignment with the company that has not yet been sold.
