Truck found with GPS jammer in NSW

A modified speedometer and a GPS jamming device have been found in a prime mover during a police operation on the Central Coast.

NSW Police and Roads and Maritime Services inspected nine heavy vehicles as part of a joint compliance operation in Mount White on Friday.

A prime mover driven by a 54-year-old man was found to have a modified speedometer which would have stopped the vehicle's odometer from recording the kilometres it travelled.

A GPS jamming device was also found inside the cabin of the heavy vehicle, which is owned by a Somersby-based company.

The Campbelltown man was subject to random testing and returned a positive indication for the presence of a prohibited drug.

He has been suspended from driving for 24 hours.

Police are waiting on test results from a second sample before determining further legal action.
