Two men and a teenage boy have been plucked from the water and winched to safety in a dramatic rescue after their boat sunk off the NSW north coast.
The trio was more than three kilometres out to sea off Evans Head when their vessel began taking on water early Sunday morning, according to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.
They activated a distress beacon and were picked up by a rescue helicopter crew about 9.20am.
