Dog attacks toddler and two women in Sydney backyard

Three people, including a two-year-old boy, have been taken to hospital after they were attacked by a dog in Sydney's west.

Two women, aged 49 and 21, and the boy were in a backyard in Fairfield West when the attack occurred around 5pm (AEST).

Police said the younger woman and toddler suffered injuries to their torsos, while the older woman sustained injuries on both arms.

They were treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital.

Local council rangers have been informed about the attack.
