Three pedestrians hit by car in Sydney

Three pedestrians have been hit by a car, leaving one with serious head injuries, in Sydney's inner west.

A 23-year-old woman is in hospital with a serious head injury, while another woman and man, both 24, were also injured at St Peters.

Police say a car crashed into the pedestrians when they were crossing the Princes Highway at the Bishop Street intersection about 5.30pm.

The 24-year-old woman suffered facial injuries and the man has cuts to his arm and leg.

All three were taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital.

The driver of the car, a 31-year-old man, was expected to undergo blood and urine testing.
