Three men charged after allegedly selling methylamphetamine and cocaine on dark web

Three men have been arrested and charged after allegedly selling drugs on the dark web.

Police pulled over a vehicle on Francesco Drive in Bella Vista at 3.30pm on Thursday and arrested three men.

Three search warrants were carried out at properties in Toongabbie, Bella Vista and Glenwood at 4.30pm the same afternoon.

Prohibited drugs, drug paraphernalia, a car, cryptocurrency wallets and electronics were seized during the searches.

Police allege the men, two aged 25 and one 27, have been selling various amounts of crystal methylamphetamine and cocaine on the dark web in exchange for cryptocurrency since October 2023.

"The NSWPF is up to the challenge posed by modern-day criminals who wish to deal prohibited drugs or other illegal commodities on the internet, and we will aggressively pursue anyone who attempts to," Detective Superintendent Matthew Craft said.

"Despite this activity occurring on the darknet, police still have visibility and an advanced capacity to respond.

"Anonymity on the darknet is no longer guaranteed."

The 27-year-old was issued with 17 charges relating to supplying drug offences.

One of the 25-year-olds was charged with 12 charges relating to the supply of drugs, including supplying a prohibited drug in a large commercial quantity and knowingly directing a criminal group.

The second 25-year-old was charged with three offences, including two counts of taking part in the supply of a prohibited drug and participating in a criminal group.

All three men were refused bail to appear in Bankstown Local Court today.
