Teen driver fronts NSW court over death

A female driver who allegedly hit and killed a motorbike rider on a NSW road six days before Christmas has appeared in a Sydney court.

Taylor Rebecca Angell, 19, has been charged with dangerous driving occasioning death following the fatal collision at Caringbah in the city's south on the night of December 19.

She did not enter a plea at Sutherland Local Court on Thursday and her bail was continued.

It's alleged Angell was driving along Taren Point Road when her car crashed into a motorbike, critically injuring the 28-year-old rider.

Members of the public tried to revive the man before paramedics arrived.

He was taken to St George Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Angell is due back before Sutherland Local Court on March 5.
