Teen charged with attempted murder over alleged Sydney stabbing

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with attempted murder after another teenager was allegedly stabbed in Sydney’s inner west last week.

The boy was arrested at Burwood Police Station on Friday and charged with causing wounding or grievous bodily harm with intent to murder.

The charge follows an alleged attack at Earlwood on Friday, September 18.

Emergency services were called to Flinders Road about 5.45pm, where they found a 17-year-old boy with stab wounds to his upper body.

Paramedics treated the teenager at the scene before taking him to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police believe the alleged stabbing happened near a public amenities block at Beaman Park.

The 17-year-old accused was refused bail and is due to appear before a children’s court on Saturday.
