‘My car doesn’t go that fast’: P-plater stung going more than 100km/h over the speed limit
A teenager has been busted for travelling at nearly 190km/h in Sydney’s west, despite claiming his car can’t travel that fast.
The 17-year-old was allegedly travelling at 187km/h on The Northern Road in Luddenham, which is posted as an 80km/h zone, on Saturday in a white Hyundai i30.

The teenager stopped at a red light at Elizabeth Drive, where police caught up to him and pulled him over.
“Couldn’t have been me, my car doesn’t go that fast,” the teenager claimed when spoken to by police.
The 17-year-old also admitted to using non-medicinal cannabis, testing positive for the banned substance in a secondary test. He tested negative to alcohol and other drugs.
It was also found the car was not registered.
The teenager was charged with driving at a dangerous speed over 45km/h and for driving an unregistered motor vehicle.
His driver’s licence was also confiscated and suspended, and he has been given a 24-hour banning notice.
The teenager will face Penrith Local Court.
