Sydney man found hanging by foot on fence

A man has been found hanging by the foot from a fence in an industrial estate in circumstances still being investigated by Sydney police.

A worker found the 45-year-old man trapped on the fence in Crescent St at Holroyd early on Thursday morning.

"He was located hanging upside down with his shoe impaled," a NSW police spokesman told AAP.

"Police are not sure how long he had been there for."

Officers are investigating the circumstances that led to the man being in the area and say he has not yet been charged with anything.
