Sydney man charged over young woman's fatal overdose

A Sydney man who gave a young woman a drug she fatally overdosed on has been charged with her manslaughter, police say.

Officers found the 20-year-old woman at a Cabramatta home in Sydney's west on December 12, 2012.

It's alleged the man had given her an illegal drug which she subsequently overdosed on.

Police arrested a 41-year-old man at a home in Punchbowl on Friday and he was charged with manslaughter, sexual assault, act of indecency and malicious damage.

He's been refused bail to appear at the Parramatta Bail Court on Saturday.
