Sydney handyman charged with abusing girl

A elderly handyman has been charged with the alleged sexual assault of an eight-year-old girl in Sydney's east.

Police say the 73-year-old, who was working as a handyman at the girl's home, sexually and indecently assaulted her repeatedly between December and January this year.

The Randwick man has been charged with sexual intercourse with a child and three counts of aggravated indecent assault.

He was refused bail to face Waverley Local Court on Wednesday.
