Syd traffic controller hit, driver charged

A driver who hit a traffic controller in Sydney's east has been charged after police discovered he was wanted on several warrants from three states.
A 63-year-old man on traffic control duties in Kensington on Tuesday night was struck by a Toyota Hilux driven by a 43-year-old man at about 10.30pm, police say.
The traffic controller was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to St Vincent's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver was taken to hospital for mandatory testing and further inquiries reveaed he had four outstanding warrants in NSW from 2012, three in Victoria and one in Queensland.
He remains in police custody and will face Waverley Local Court on Wednesday.
