A second man arrested in NSW after a 12-year-old boy was kidnapped on the Gold Coast will be extradited to Queensland.

Yu "Sunny" Zhang faced Sydney's Central Local Court via videolink on Thursday, accused of snatching the boy from the front of his home and bundling him into a car with a hood over his head.

Magistrate Robert Williams ordered the man, from Sydney's west, be taken by Queensland officers to Southport Watchhouse on Friday.

The 20-year-old, who sat silently as the order was read out, is expected to be charged with kidnapping for ransom upon his arrival.

His father Zheng Jie Zhang, 53, has already been charged.

The boy was seen being pulled into a black Jeep outside his family's Mudgeeraba home on May 11, triggering an amber alert.

Police allege he was found the next day in the northern NSW town of Grafton in the elder Zhang's car.

While the boy did not recognise the man who grabbed him, it is further alleged he identified the elder Zhang as the driver of the vehicle as he was already known to the youth.

Police claim the kidnapping came about after the boy's family fell out with the older Zhang over "substantial" personal loans.

Sunny Zhang handed himself into police in Sydney's southwest on Tuesday.
