A Sydney solicitor has been charged after allegedly stealing almost $15 million from clients.

Police allege that between April 2023 and February 2025, a 45-year-old solicitor at a Bondi Junction law firm had accessed several business and trust accounts and transferred funds to himself.

It will be alleged in court the man stole $14.8 million from clients for gambling.

At about 10am yesterday, detectives arrested the lawyer at Maroubra Police Station and charged him with multiple fraud-related offences.

He was refused bail and appeared in court yesterday.

Police said the investigation opened after a referral from the NSW Law Society.

"This referral was instrumental in allowing detectives to uncover the full extent of the alleged offending and ensure the matter is now before the court," Detective Superintendent Gordon Arbinja said.
