Siege survivor donates to Sydney hospital

One of the survivors of Sydney's deadly Lindt Cafe siege has donated the $25,000 she received from a television interview to the hospital that cared for her.

Louisa Hope, 52, was shot in the ankle during the traumatic ordeal last December, which took the lives of fellow hostages Katrina Dawson and Tori Johnson.

Ms Hope was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital to recover, a process that has been lengthened by her multiple sclerosis.

She would go on to appear on television to tell her story, but instead of pocketing her pay-off, she is giving it to the hospital.

Ms Hope is putting the money towards launching The Louisa Hope Nursing Fund to support the hospital's nurses with education and research grants.

"I wanted to say thank you and I wanted to say I respect you," Ms Hope told Network Ten.
