Search to continue for NSW teen missing on camping trip

The search will continue this morning for a teenager who went missing during a camping trip in the NSW Hunter region.

Friends last saw the 19-year-old man at about 9am yesterday morning when he went for a short walk at McLean's Lookout in the Central Hunter.

The man was last seen heading towards a track at the northern end of the lookout fence, but has not been seen since.

When he failed to return his friends conducted their own search of the area which did not locate him.

At 10am police were contacted and a full-scale search was undertaken by the Special Casualty Access Team, the Volunteer Rescue Association and SES, but was ended by darkness last night.

It will resume at 8am this morning and concentrate on areas around the lookout.
