Rottweiler impounded after attacking toddler

A Rottweiler suspected of biting a child on his face has been seized by police in Riverwood, south of Sydney.

The toddler suffered facial injuries after he was attacked by the dog that was tied up outside a shop in Coleridge Street.

The owner of the dog left the scene before police arrived.

The animal has been impounded and an investigation is underway.
