NSW woman's last-minute swap leads to $60 million Powerball windfall

A NSW woman's last-minute change to her Powerball numbers has lead to a windfall totalling more than $60 million.

The Queanbeyan lady changed a single digit, which not only got her the only win across Australia in the division one prize pool but secured the division two prize 19 times, bolstering her winnings by a handy $638,678.

The woman was watching the women's State of Origin when she got the call from lottery officials about her win but couldn't "believe this is real".

"It's insane, absolutely insane," she said, according to The Lott.

"My mouth's gone all dry – this is insane. You have no idea how much my head is spinning right now.

"I actually changed one of the numbers on the PowerHit. I did a fast select on the ticket, but then then thought I had too many numbers in the 30s. I had 33 and 34, so I took out 33 and made it 5. How insane is that!"

The self-described "everyday worker" told representatives she'd been struggling with the cost of living, like everyone else.

"Up until 10 minutes ago, I had a mortgage," the mystery winner said.

"I'll keep working for now… but it might not be full time.

"I'm still young enough to enjoy this, share it with the family and make sure everyone's comfortable for the rest of my life.

"It's nuts!"

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1567 were 26, 30, 10, 34, 16, 5 and 12. The Powerball number was 11.
