Police operation at Sydney station

A train station in Sydney's inner west that was shut down during a peak-hour police operation has been reopened.

Trains were diverted from Marrickville Station from about 7am on Monday, according to police, with a local worker telling AAP streets were also cordoned off.

The operation, reportedly in response to a suspicious package, wound up by 8.20am, police later said.
