NSW woman killed by car during walk

A woman has died after she was hit by a car while out walking near Penrith.

Emergency services attended the scene on River Road, Leonay at about 4.30pm on Tuesday where they found the woman's body lying on the roadway.

The driver of a small silver vehicle - believed to be involved in crash - was spoken to by police before being taken to Nepean Hospital for mandatory tests.

Investigations are ongoing.
