NSW teacher charged over student assaults

A former teacher has been charged with allegedly indecently assaulting three young children at school in the NSW Riverina in the mid-1980s.

The 62-year-old man was arrested at a Gorokon home on the NSW Central Coast on Thursday and charged over alleged indecent assaults involving three students aged between nine and 11 between 1980 and 1984 while teaching at a Tumut primary school, police said.

The man was charged with 12 counts of acts of indecency and one count of indecent assault and is due to face Wyong local court on May 24.
