NSW prison worker nabbed with contraband

A prison worker and the partner of an inmate have been accused of an alleged plot to smuggle contraband into a facility in NSW's Central West.

Detectives arrested a 36-year-old Dubbo man and a 21-year-old woman in the Sydney suburb of Eastwood on Wednesday morning and later seized suboxone strips and steroids.

Police will allege in court the man, who is a Corrective Services NSW employee, met with the woman, who is the partner of an inmate, to collect items to be "introduced" into Wellington Correctional Centre in exchange for money.

The man, whose employment with Corrective Services NSW has been suspended, has been granted strict conditional bail and is due to face Parramatta Local Court in August.

He's been charged with three counts of corruptly receiving or soliciting benefit, and drug supply.

The Guildford woman has been charged with two counts of corruptly offering benefit, and drug supply.

She is due to face Burwood local court on July 30.
