NSW man pleads guilty over road incidents

A man who allegedly hit a motorcyclist before driving off and crashing into a parked car in Sydney will remain in custody after pleading guilty to several offences.

Police say 33-year-old Guy Beard became aggressive and refused to do a roadside breath test when they stopped his car in the inner-city suburb of Waterloo on Monday afternoon.

It is alleged Beard had an altercation with another motorist before driving off and hitting a 45-year-old male motorcyclist.

Beard then drove off and hit a parked car on a nearby street, police allege.

He has been charged with nine offences, including behaving in an offensive manner, resisting police, driving under the influence and dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm.

During a brief court appearance on Tuesday, his lawyer entered pleas of guilty to five of the nine charges and indicated he was likely to plead guilty to the other four.

The court was told the motorcyclist was having surgery for a suspected broken leg.

Beard did not apply for bail and will reappear in court later this month.
