NSW man 'had child abuse photos on phones'

A 62-year-old man is behind bars after police allegedly found child abuse material on two mobile phones in his possession.

The man was nabbed at 10.30pm on Wednesday by police, who said they had cause to speak to him as they were patrolling Lucan Street in Harden, in southern NSW.

Further inquiries prompted officers to seize two mobile phones with examinations of them allegedly uncovering child abuse material.

The man was arrested at a home in Harden on Thursday morning, where a computer and several electronic storage devices were also seized.

He was charged with possessing child abuse material and refused bail.

He is due to face Wagga Local Court on Friday.
