Two charged over separate NSW govt threats

Two men have been charged after making separate threats to government agencies in NSW.

A 29-year-old man was arrested in Bathurst on Tuesday after allegedly making a hoax threat inside a government building.

Police say the man placed a bag on to the floor and made a threat to staff before being arrested and charged with a raft of offences including intimidating, intending fear of physical harm.

The bag contained a laptop, according to police, who said the man was scheduled to appear before the Bathurst Local Court on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, another man in Sydney was charged on Tuesday with harassing a carriage service after he allegedly rang and left four threatening messages towards a government agency.

The 45-year-old was arrested in Woolloomooloo and refused bail and is due to face Central local court on Wednesday.

The two arrests came on the same day a Virgin flight between Sydney and Albury was evacuated after a man allegedly left a threatening note in the plane's toilet.

The man was charged with sending a document threatening death or grievous bodily harm and giving false information.
