A northern NSW man has been charged after a video was found of him allegedly outlining plans to kill police.

A series of abusive posts were published about various police organisations before he posted the video, in which he outlined plans to kill police officers and encouraged others to do the same, NSW Police say.

The 37-year-old northern NSW man was arrested in Brisbane on Wednesday.

He appeared at the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday afternoon, where he was extradited to NSW.

The man is en route to Lismore Police Station where he will be charged with solicit to murder (endeavour to persuade) and send threatening document to kill.

He's expected to appear at Lismore Local Court on Friday.
