Man charged with murder after allegedly killing camping companion with axe
A man has been charged with murder after an alleged argument between campers turned deadly in northern New South Wales.
The 26-year-old man was believed to be with a 33-year-old man and 25-year-old woman at a campground in Ebor on Sunday, when the two men are believed to have gotten into an argument.
As the argument escalated, the younger man allegedly struck the 33-year-old on the head with an axe at around 10.30pm, causing critical head injuries.

The woman drove the injured man from Ebor to the nearby town of Thora, where she then called emergency services.
By the time they arrived, however, the man had died from his injuries.
The woman told police she had been assaulted as well, and was treated for bruising on her neck.
Yesterday, the 26-year-old man was found on Waterfall Way in Ebor and arrested by police.

He was taken to Armidale Police Station, where he was charged with murder, intentionally choking a person recklessly, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The man was refused bail and will appear in court today.
Police were saddened by the violence that took place in a small town.
"It's always a terrible thing that someone ends up dead from an altercation like this," Superintendent Chris McKinnon said yesterday.
